BROWS
Here at Stephanie Waters Brows, we have made it so easy for you – you can book direct online and there are varying methods for securing payment.
It is imperative you familiarise yourself with all the information on the ‘Book Now’ page to ensure you complete the process effectively.
PLEASE NOTE: Because we are so good at what we do, our demand is high. There is a current wait period for appointments. I highly recommend you secure your appointment well in advance.
Please read through the information here for a comprehensive breakdown of each part of the treatment process. In short, allocate three (3) hours for your initial consultation and procedure, plus any required travel time. (I am located in Townsville, North Queensland).
A second treatment is required around 8 - 12 weeks later. The follow-up treatment appointment will take around one (1) hour. I will assess your healing, the colour and overall design and if necessary, add some extra hair strokes or touch up areas that may require more definition.
Each and every client has an individual custom mix designed for their brows specifically! Stephanie Waters Brows does not apply generic colouring. The choice of colouring is specific to both individual skin tone and eye/hair matching. Colouring is something we work through together and collaboratively make the decision for the best look for you to suit your lifestyle.
FEATHERTOUCH BROWS
Feathertouch brows (also known as microblading) is a technique where the effect is a delicate, fine hair stroke application that looks just like real hair. This is achieved by placing hair strokes to a dermis layer (the inner layer of the top two layers of skin) using a manual hand apparatus to achieve a natural fuller-looking brow.
OMBRE BROWS
Ombre brows are for the bold brow pursuers as they are a more defined brow that can give the appearance of a strong makeup look. Ombre brows are very versatile and can be scaled down to achieve a softer look. This type of brow can be great for people with quite oily or mature type skin as the colour can hold better for longer.
COMBINATION BROWS
A combination brow, the perfect mix! A blend of both Feathertouch and Ombre – which is a great way to create some extra definition through the arch and tail whilst keeping the look soft at the front. Combination brows are a very popular choice due to their flexible and fused appearance!
As an expert in this field I will guide you through the varying differences in the brow types, techniques involved and the lifestyle contributors to confirm what will suit your face for the long-term.
Your pre-appointment information will indicate your preparation involves applying an anaesthetic cream (purchased simply from your local chemist) to numb the area prior to arriving for your appointment(s). As such, this cosmetic application should not hurt. Some clients indicate feeling a mild discomfort or slight pressure, generally compared to having your eyebrows tweezed.
After your treatment, the colour will appear darker than your chosen shade - don’t worry or panic!
Approximately 7 to 10 days later, exfoliation takes place, leaving the brow a softer, lighter-colour resulting in that natural-looking enhancement. Additionally, as the treated area settles down, itching can occur. If this happens for you, don’t worry! This is a good sign with itching indicating the skin is healing. As further explained in “the journey to your perfect brow” found here, a detailed after-care pack is provided for you as a guide to how to look after your new brows throughout the healing process.
Your day-to-day won’t be impacted! It will just look as though you have had a brow wax and tint – remembering it will look darker for a few days until the exfoliation takes place and the colour settles. Normal physical activity or getting straight back to work can resume.
Brows will vary from person to person as everyone retains pigment differently. All skin types are different and chosen brow styles vary. For example, the more mature the skin, the longer they will last. Facial products containing AHAs for example will exfoliate the skin more deeply and that can also affect brows. It is also important to note that Ombre brows will last longer than Feathertouch brows.
Overall, completion of your brows with Stephanie Waters Brows should mean your quality-applied treatment will last at least 2-3 years. Additionally, to maintain a fresh brow look, a colour-boost every 18 months is recommended for oilier skin and every two (2) years for dry or mature skin. (To not have a colour boost will mean the facial enhancement will naturally fade).
I am so passionate about what I do, complete appreciation and adherence to the highest level of hygiene standards, practice and procedures are mandatory and maintained within my sterile home studio. If you live in North Queensland, you would already know the impact our harsh tropical sun can have! This applies to your brows as well;
SUN: The sun fades facial pigment faster. As a result, it is essential to use sunscreen protection to not only provide a barrier for your skin against the harsh rays, but also now to prolong your brow enhancement.
In the same way having your hair type can have a different outcome in holding colour (between blondes and brunettes for example) it is the same for your brows.
COLOUR: Some colours will fade quicker than others, such as blonde, compared to darker browns. If there has ever been a better silver lining to the aging process;
SKIN: The longer the regeneration of skins cells takes, the longer the pigment holds, meaning the more mature you get - the longer your brows will last!
LIPS
The lips (like brows) have fast become not only hotly trended but a must have beauty enhancement. As such, lip tattooing training and techniques have advanced significantly to match the industry demand. Lip tattooing is not painful. Lips heal very quickly - in around five (5) days!
Lip colour holds fast, for approximately 3-5 years before needing any colour boost.
Colours for lips is so diverse with many colours to choose from! Just like the process for brows, we will discuss at length your natural skin undertones and personal preferences in look, feel and profile. For example, going with a natural look creates more definition and evenness in your lip colour. Alternatively, opting for a bolder colour creates more impact. As an expert at my craft, Stephanie Waters Brows will provide informative detail and direction in guiding you to flawlessly finished lips.
An awkward and often unpleasant topic – but necessary and important to consider!
Suffering from cold sores will not limit your ability to get your lips done! In fact, lip tattooing is actually a great way to help camouflage any scarring you may have experienced from cold sore breakouts.
When making your appointment, please let us know if you suffer from breakouts and more comprehensive pre-appointment information will be provided to you.
